mythical words:
the title and inspiration for personal myths probably intuitively came as a result of having read joseph campbell or carl jung at some point in my life. the idea (at least for me), is that we all have stories that we tell about ourselves and to ourselves—personal myths—and these stories either serve us or they limit us. for example, i have always seen myself as the eternal outsider. this personal myth has somewhat hindered me, as i felt i never quite connected with the others in my world. but, once i learned that our aspects can have both light and shadow facets, i saw the idea of an outsider as also being an explorer—someone who ventures (and eventually grows) outside the circle—returning with something new for those within it. what are your myths? do they serve you or limit you?
