Magical Thinking (24bit)

valikan I had a powerful imagery the first time I heard this song and felt strongly amazed. Might be because of the book I was reading, or because of the room I was in at that time, but I basically imagined myself entering a tropical cave and disturbing some ancient entity (the bwaa bwaa you hear in the song). The entity is actually well-meaning and just wants to make itself heard for once.

A beautiful and immersive soundscape that I'm sure I will continue listening for many other moments.
Favorite track: There's A Time Machine Between Your Ears.

<=> *This album, along with (a series), Archaism, Common Wonders, and Beyond the Margins. Counterintelligence is such a beautiful expression of sonic inner and outer mysteries that I am often left with peaceful ponderings (what-ifs) in a unique, tranquil state of mind. Please don't just consider this album but the series and immerse in the peaceful wonder and mystery that pervades...

Thanks Steve!

the term magical thinking is often used derisively and i’m not sure why. it is often seen as being ungrounded in reality, even delusional. the very definition of the word magic is that it indicates something removed from everyday life, the mundane, our conditioned expectations and it can sometimes radically shift our perspective. it’s also an indication of the “supernatural,” which to me, means not outside of nature, but nature at it’s most extra-ordinary…super nature. so, looked at in this way, if we’re thinking magically, we’re defying old paradigms and using our imagination and intuition to see things in a way that can spark renewal on every level and even create revolutionary new possibilities.
