abandoned words:
“abandoned” began as a 15 minute-plus track on my 2018 pioneer light music release, “otherness : near series.” it remains one of my favorite tracks of the near series for it’s title, it’s simplicity, and for the feeling that it evokes. for me, this is the sound of how it feels to be abandoned, left behind, forgotten, disabused of any notion of usefulness or worth, not without hope, but still not anchored in peace, not quite bereft, but not quite belonging—awash in memories, poised with potential.
